United Ministries believes that volunteers are our strength.
Who gets credit for a job well done is not as important as
realizing that volunteers are part of the same team, working for
the same goals. We encourage innovation and commitment.

Involvement activities are open to groups and/or individuals and can be as creative as the talents you bring. To meet participant needs, United Ministries is currently seeking assistance with the following:

  • Staffing reception area/answering phones
  • Sorting, organizing & collecting non-perishable food items
  • Interviewing participants in Emergency Assistance (training provided)
  • Teaching application and interview skills to Employment Readiness participants
  • Locating employment opportunities for Employment Readiness participants
  • Teaching and/or Tutoring in the Adult Education program
  • Meeting participant needs at Place of Hope
  • Labeling and/or stuffing newsletters
  • Special Events

To learn more about how you can become involved, please contact Claire Winkler at 864.335.2618 or e-mail. Also, view our youth opportunities.

If you are interested in volunteering, you may complete and return the
Prospective Volunteer Profile Form.

Volunteers must attend an orientation workshop prior to beginning.

Orientation is usually held from 9:30 am to 11:30 am at United Ministries' Brownell-Kellett Administration Building.
