United Ministries offers a wide range of tools, resources, and opportunities for families to receive personalized support.
Program Overview
The Family Housing program is a long-term, economic mobility program that offers supportive housing for families with children who are exiting homelessness as they work towards upward goals related to career, finances, education, housing, transportation, and overall well-being.
Families work closely with an Economic Mobility Partner who provides coaching, resources, and tools tailored to their goals, and provides ongoing support through a multi-phased approach to transitioning out of homelessness into stable housing. Household members receive wraparound support and access to stabilizing services to help strengthen and equip the entire family for lasting stability and self-sufficiency.
Qualifications
The Family Housing Program is designed for families experiencing homelessness to have the opportunity to reside in stable housing while working on achieving economic mobility.
How We Support Families: A Phased Approach
Families move into an independent family unit and begin working with an Economic Mobility partner. Together, they assess needs, connect to resources, and start setting and prioritizing goals to support the family’s overall stability and well-being.
Families spend the majority of their time in this phase laying the groundwork for long-term stability. They begin paying program fees, open a high-yield savings account, and continue working toward goals that support their overall well-being and economic mobility. This phase is focused on building the habits, resources, and plans that will sustain them beyond the program.
In this final phase, families focus on securing permanent, affordable housing and preparing to transition out of the program with stability. They continue building on the progress made in earlier phases to ensure they are equipped for long-term success and independence beyond program support.
